Blog:Lacoste Sneakers

Wednesday, August 26th, 2009

Lacoste Shoes are another alternative to footwear offered by the big players in this industry such as Nike and Adidas. Being designed and manufactured by a French company, they are bound to have a totally different approach than their rather aggressive competition, offering a total European look.

The crocodile logo on a fake Elegant Men’s Lacoste ZEPHER MR2 Shoes is nearly level with the bottom stitching of the placket. However, on a genuine shirt the crocodile is half-way between the 2nd button and the stitching.
On a real logo, the claws are visible and the tail is rather thin and ends in a pointy tip. The fake logos usually have rounded paws, super-wide mouths and a fatter tail that ends in a blunt tip.

The deal, which was announced on 1 July, would see the new Pirate Bay host legal content, paying copyright holders for their work, and also paying file sharers for making their files available.

The company is also looking at harnessing the storage capacity and processing power of the file-sharing community, creating a powerful grid of peer-to-peer linked computers to share legitimate files.

Mr Pandeya said the unusual nature of The Pirate Bay did not sit comfortably with some Swedish bankers.

“You are not supposed to buy an illegal site,” he said. “This is out-of-the-box thinking.

“Because it is unconventional it is viewed with uncertainty by Swedish culture, even if I don’t view it that way.

“Because of that, they want details and 100% assurances, but in business that is not always something you can get,” he said.

Mr Pandeya said that despite this he was hopeful the Aktietorget would let GGF resume trading.

“Why stop trading when, in three days, we will find out if [the acquisition] is real?” he asked.

blog: Corruption

Tuesday, August 25th, 2009

Almost every African I met, who was not actually in government, blamed corrupt African leaders for their plight.

“The gap between the rich and the poor in Africa is still growing,” said a fisherman on the shores of Lake Victoria.

“Our leaders, they just want to keep on being rich. And they don’t want to pay taxes.”

Even President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf of Liberia came close to this when she told me she had underestimated the level of corruption in her country when she took office.

“Maybe I should have sacked the whole government when I came to power,” she said.

“Africa is not poor,” President Johnson-Sirleaf added, “it is poorly managed.”

This theme was echoed by an architect in Kenya and a senior government official in Nigeria.

Both pointed out that the informal sector of most African economies is huge and almost completely unharnessed.

blog: Paris’ Hermes Headquarters

Tuesday, August 25th, 2009

For tonight we’ve saved up a delicate snack that is so high in calories you may want to cut back on the Tostitos and salsa for the next few days. Further reading may also cause high amounts of stress and as a result thereof, hightened blood pressure, sudden queasiness and uncontrolable sweating. In addition, you may start drooling like a Pavolian dog at ring bell and tears may roll down your cheeks for no apparent reason.

Actually the reason is very apparent, because the purse blog duo had worked its way into the lion’s den, the molten, glowing hot core of the Big Momma of all handbags – the Hermes Headquarters in Paris. Being nearly paralyzed of awe, we stood in front of the wide store front and stared for literally 20 minutes at the carefully selected exclusive goodies resting in the display cases. Jealous eyes scanned those that came out of the enormous store with one of those highly sought after orange shopping bags, being proof of obvious financial wealth or willingness to dive into debt. Eventually, reality settled in and we figured that it was still yet another store that was offering goods, and that there was nothing to really be afraid of. Another reality settled in rather quickly once the heavy black doors swung open, we stepped in and the aura of perfection slapped us in our faces like a soft velvet glove.

blog:Hermes in Venice, Italy

Tuesday, August 25th, 2009

A few steps away from Louis Vuitton was the Hermes Venice, Italy store. While my Hermes collection merely contains a handful of scarves, Twilly’s, and a beautiful bracelet, I am on the hunt for a Birkin. The Hermes store in Venice is quaint, but still packs a big punch. Downstairs are all of the scarves, bracelets, and small goods, while upstairs there was clothing and of course, glorious bags. A lovely SA showed me around and delighted my arm with a Blue Jean Hermes Lindy, which I had a really hard time passing up. The only reason I opted not for the Lindy was for the sheer fact that I am anxiously waiting for a Hermes Blue Jean Birkin with Palladium Hardware. Insert drool here. A handful of Kelly’s were spotted here and there which still made my heart skip a few beats. Vlad stood nearby nervously twitching and hoping that I would not give in and/or try to make him give in. We left empty handed, but still whole-heartedly satisfied. In the store front window, a breathtaking Hermes Kelly in Orange Swift tantalized every passerbys eyes. Hopefully, next time I am in Venice, I can walk into Hermes with my own Birkin in hand.

While our site reads “Shallow Obsessing Strongly Encouraged“, there is so much more to the people of Purse Blog and Purse Forum. Boasting over 68,000 registered members, The Purse Forum is one of the fastest growing and most active communities on the web. Nestled in the vast forum are sub-forums upon sub-forums of members. These members have congregated because of their passion for handbags yet in the end have formed much more. Many have met others and become great friends, while groups of members are enjoying meeting up to shop and eat. This past spring a group of Hermes members did just that, resulting in a fabulous weekend and a feature in the New York Times. Christine Muhlke from the New York Times met with the Hermes ladies to see a little bit into their world. Yesterday in a special style section of the NYT was an alluring article about some of the women behind the Hermes group. For a fun read about our amazing Hermes Forum please check out the article at NYT!

Special thanks to all of the ladies who participated and Christine for featuring the fabulous members of our forum!

blog:Britney Spears Style: Hermes Crocodile Kelly

Tuesday, August 25th, 2009

Oops she did it again! How can one person make a handbag as stunning and timeless as the Hermes Croc Kelly loose its luster? I keep trying to secretly root for Britney Spears, hoping she will find her way and get back on track. But she keeps missing important appointments, acting irresponsible, and making beautiful items look bad. Britney Spears was snapped shopping with horribly ratty hair, an outfit that just did not work with her, and a beautiful Hermes Croc Kelly. Her shiny Black Crocodile Kelly is screaming for help, it would prefer to be carried by someone else, yet there is Britney toting it around. But when you examine the bag closely, you see that it is in good shape, still stunning, and ultimately luxurious. Money can buy a bag, but money sure can not buy class. Britney, I still hope you turn things around for the better. Until then, take care of your Hermes bag!

Check out a previous instance where Spears carried this bag, and one more new pic after the jump!

blog:Bugatti Veyron Fbg par Hermès

Tuesday, August 25th, 2009

The new Veyron derives its name from the historic Hermès headquarters on the Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, in the heart of Paris’ eighth arrondissement. It sports eight-spoked wheels in polished aluminum, central butterfly wheel locks branded with the prominent letter ‘H’, and air vents around the rims aim to reproduce the characteristic appearance of traidtional Hermès saddle-stitching. The horseshoe radiator grille, and the lateral ventilation grilles flanking it, are made from lightweight alloys with a design of interlocking H’s which evoke the Hermès signature. The inner surfaces of the Veyron Fbg are designed and sheathed in bull calfskin at the Hermès workshops in Paris by the same mastered hands that give us purse fetishists the coveted Birkin and Kelly bags.

blog:Victoria Beckham Crocodile Hermes Birkin

Tuesday, August 25th, 2009

She has finally done it! We have seen Victoria Beckham carry her Hermes Ostrich Birkin, Hermes Kelly Longue, Rouge Birkin, white Birkin, Hermes Kelly Lizard Pochette, Hermes Baccara Clutch, and the list goes on. But when it has come to her Birkin’s, Victoria has seemingly stuck with leather, not exotics. Sure there has been an ostrich or two, but compared to her collection it is minuscule. Finally she has taken a crocodile out to show the world. Victoria Beckham was seen leaving her NYC hotel on her way to lunch with her hot hubby David carrying a 35 cm Shiny Crocodile Miel Hermes Birkin. Her Crocodile Birkin is what I consider divine and one of the perfect staples of the house of Hermes. She pulls of the size perfectly, not allowing it to over-power her, but wearing it as what it is meant to be, an accessory. Price is not cheap nor anywhere near cheap, and hearing rumors of more price increases only makes it that much more un-affordable to the masses. But that is what Hermes wants, and that is what they have created. And yes, many of you do not like Victoria Beckham, but just see this post as me showcasing a stunning bag!
